Assistance Office

The services provided by the St. Vincent de Paul assistance offices are provided to anyone in need without cost to the recipient, without regard to gender, religion, race or circumstances, limited primarily by the resources that are available within that assistance agency.

Bremerton Assistance Center client/family services:

  • ASSISTANCE CENTER SERVICES Food bank (including Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter baskets) clothing, furniture, furnishings, bus tokens, food handler vouchers, birth certificate vouchers, utilities (i.e. Puget Sound Energy), water, oil, propane, presto logs, and assistance with cremation/funeral expenses.
  • REFERRALS: When appropriate, we refer clients to other agencies and resources that may have services not provided by St. Vincent's.
  • CRITERIA: You do not need I.D. or current proof of residence for food assistance.

Community support makes the Bremerton Assistance programs possible.   Your donation of time, goods and money goes directly to those in need in our community. Specific needs for our food bank include: non-perishable food products, easy open food items for homeless families, personal care items, dish soap, laundry soap, and diapers, wipes and baby food.

  • Donations can be made at the SVDP Assistance Office. There is also a receptacle at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in the vestibule for food and other donations.

Volunteers  We accept volunteers of all ages. Please call or stop by to explore opportunities for helping those we serve. Volunteers choose their own days and hours to work according to their individual schedule.  

Community Service workers are welcomed including youth who need community service hours for high school.

In order to better serve the complex needs of our client families SVDP often partners with a myriad of like-minded service providers.

Partners  Kitsap Mental Health, Kitsap Community Resources, Housing Solutions Center, Coffee Oasis, Bremerton Housing Authority, D.S.H.S., Salvation Army, various churches, the YWCA and other food banks within the Kitsap County region.
