STAR OF HOPE

The aptly named Star of Hope campaign is entering its final year and we need you to help bring it over the finish line.

The campaign has raised 80 percent of its $19.5 million goal to achieve the following on SVdP-owned property at Callow and 13th Street in Bremerton:

• Expand the Stella Maris emergency shelter for women and children from its current 30 beds to 47. These critical beds serve women and families who are living in their cars or on the streets and/or fleeing domestic abuse.
• Construct 38 units of transitional housing, providing stability for people who need support as they work toward a permanent place of their own. These sites will serve our vulnerable neighbors working hard to turn their lives around, including those transitioning from the Washington Corrections Center for Women.
• Upgrade the existing Neighborhood Market and Resource Center, which provides access to nutritious food so no one in our community goes to be hungry. The Center also links guests to life-saving services, such as veterans benefits, transportation and counseling.With your support, we can break ground later this year.

Once Phase 1 is underway, we will begin development of Phase 2, which will provide:

• Up to 110 units of permanent affordable housing
• A Child Care Center
• A Community Gathering Space
